Fun Is the Target
The Archery program at Rotary Scout Reservation is very popular with Scouts of all ages. We offer Archery merit badge, as well as daily open shoots. Evening open shoots frequently offer fun targets such as balloons or extra-terrestrial aliens for all who are interested.
While there is no minimum age for Archery merit badge, the scoring requirements make it a difficult badge to earn for an inexperienced archer. We recommend that Scouts have some previous experience with open shoots before attempting the merit badge. Additional shooting time during the daily open shoots may be required to meet the scoring standards necessary to qualify for the badge.
Please note that personal bows may not be used at the RSR Archery Range. Personal equipment may not be brought to camp. Additionally, mechanical releases may not be used to qualify for the Archery merit badge.
